NEW YORK: The New York Metropolis Law enforcement Section explained on Thursday it is investigating an allegation of sexual assault by film producer Harvey Weinstein in 2004.
“The NYPD is investigating an allegation of intercourse assault from 2004,” the office explained in a statement.
Questioned by Reuters in an e mail whether the investigation concerned Weinstein, a spokesperson explained in an e mail “Sure.”
Weinstein spokeswoman Sallie Hofmeister replied “no comment” when asked by e mail about the NYPD investigation.
The Hollywood producer has beforehand denied any allegations of non-consensual intercourse.
“Based on info referenced in revealed information experiences the NYPD is conducting a evaluation to figure out if there are any added complaints relating to the Harvey Weinstein issue,” the NYPD also explained, introducing that no filed complaints experienced but been determined.
The NYPD investigation follows allegations by numerous women that Weinstein sexually harassed or assaulted them more than the previous 3 many years.
